The welcome line shown before a visitor identifies an exhibit.
Background material Seba draws on for every exhibit at this venue, alongside each exhibit's own description.
Response length is a default applied when a new visitor starts — they can still change it themselves afterward. Silent Mode and Knowledge scope are fixed venue policies, not visitor-adjustable defaults.
Automatic balances speed against depth per visitor and per question — see the "Seba Model Selection Design Note" for the full rules. Pinning to one model here skips that entirely, for every visitor at this venue: a safety valve for a demo, or for a venue that would rather not have it vary.
With streaming on, visitors see and hear the first sentence about a second after asking, instead of after the whole reply is ready. Turn it off only if visitors report replies that don't appear or play properly (for example on a network that interferes with streamed responses). The change applies to every visitor's next question, with no need to reload their page.
With automatic scanning on, once the camera is open Seba sends a picture to the server every so often until it recognises the same exhibit on enough pictures in a row, then beeps and introduces it. A visitor can tap the picture or "Take photo" at any moment instead. These numbers control how it behaves; the standard values are shown at the right.
| Start after | seconds | Standard 2. Time for the visitor to frame the exhibit before the first picture is sent. Counted from when the camera view is live. |
|---|---|---|
| Picture every | seconds | Standard 0.5. The next picture is sent this long after the previous one was sent, but never before its answer has come back, so each picture takes at least as long as the server needs. |
| Give up after | seconds | Standard 15. Protects against an accidental start. The visitor is then offered the closest exhibits to choose from, if there are any. |
| Pictures that must agree | in a row | Standard 2. How many pictures in a row must name the same exhibit, each clearing the Matching Thresholds below, before it is accepted. 1 is quickest; 2 or 3 guard against a wrong match from a single odd picture. |
When a visitor photographs an exhibit, the closest exhibit is accepted only if its score is high enough and it beats the second-closest exhibit by enough. The better the score, the smaller the lead needed. A photo scoring below the Minimum is never accepted. Values are percentages and may have decimals (for example 75.5).
